We have great news to report. Peanut caught on to the monkey crawl this week. The monkey crawl looks like a pull-up in the water. You hold onto the side of the pool with your head above water as your legs dangle. In week 9, Peanut would place his hands on the ledge (a marked improvement over previous weeks where he wouldn't even touch the ledge) , but as soon as we let him go, he'd sink. This week, he held on! This critical milestone is essentially what will save Peanut's life if he ever falls into the water. There's no point in being able to hold your breath and swim to the side of the pool, if you can't hold on to it.
The little guy continues to hold his breath at least 6 seconds underwater and is doing well torpedoing between dad and the instructor, and back.
