A typical weekend for us lately consists of work, tidying up the house, and errands. We'll manage to squeeze in some exercise and play time with Peanut, but most of it is spent catching up on the things we didn't accomplish during the week. However, we decided to throw caution to the wind today and goof off all day. It did not take much convincing to get Jared to agree to bundle up Peanut and head to the San Marcos outlet malls. He must have needed the break as much as me.
There were no smashing deals, except at Le Creuset which carries a selection of second line items, essentially scratch and dent, offered at a 10-15% discount. I bought the 9 quart French oven in red. Did you know it weighs almost 16 pounds?
The three of us were starving after 6 hours of shopping and the closest thing without a 90 minute wait was Johnny Rockets. I did not anticipate the shop-a-thon, so we left without dinner for Peanut. The big dilemma now was, what we are going to feed the baby at Johnny Rockets? We usually would give him a portion of our meal, but tonight, Jared and I selfishly wanted hamburgers. There was no way we were going to subject our baby to a greasy burger, so for the first time, we ordered a separate meal just for him. Nutritious and fast food are like oil and water, however, there is a simple solution. Bypass the kids' menu entirely and ask the waitstaff if you can get just a grilled chicken breast, which is usually half the price of a full meal. Have them throw in a couple of tomatoes or other vegetables and your problem is solved.

That Le Creuset French Oven is awesome. I use ours for nearly everything that goes in to the oven (beef burgundy in there is my favorite).
Love my new oven. I've used it almost everyday since I bought it. Great for food and my biceps.
