First Day of School

Today was Peanut's first day of school and surprisingly, it was much easier than expected. I was a bit anxious the past couple of nights, so J promised to go with me to class the first day. Our morning routine was a breeze and as soon as we arrived at school, Peanut ran into his classroom and started playing with the kitchenette. He could really care less about where J and I were.

As expected, my first morning without a child was overscheduled with errands in North, East, and South Austin. What was I thinking? Believe me, morning number 2 will include some kind of spa treatment and lots of relaxation.

I picked up Peanut promptly at 1:00 PM and learned from Ms. M&M and Ms. RoRo, his teachers, that he did not want to eat. Wait, are you talking about my kid who eats more than his dad sometimes? Yes. Peanut got PO'd when he was told to stop playing and sit down for his snack, so he refused to eat. The same thing happened at lunch, but this time, he threw his plate in the air causing a tofu and blueberry fireworks show. Apparently new toys outweigh any need for food with this guy. It didn't last long because as soon as we got in car, the first thing I heard was ăn please [Viet for eat]. Other than the 'tude during meals, Peanut was a good pupil on his first day, according to his teachers.

Let's go to school.
