Peanut turns 27 months old today. (I know, after his two year birthday, you are supposed to stop counting by his age by months, but it's a good way for me to keep track of his milestones.) It's hard to think that he'll be completing his first year of preschool in a few weeks. Putting Peanut in school at 19 months was the best decision J and I made. Not only for my sanity and the health of our marriage, but for Peanut's development. Who's to say he wouldn't have grown into the same curious, outgoing little chatterbox he is today without school, but I believe being around other kids and adults has helped him a lot.
The biggest development I've noticed in Peanut this month has to do with numbers and letters. He seems to understand the concept of counting. When you ask him, "how many are there?", he'll start tallying. Some of the time he gets it right, while other times he'll count the objects twice and tell you there are eight instead of four. He also does a good job naming numbers in order. In English, he can count up to twenty and Vietnamese, French, and Spanish to ten. Although the last two tend to get combined with the first five numbers in Spanish and last five in French. Spanish school this summer should straighten that out. In regards to letters, Peanut loves singing his ABCs at the top of his lungs. He also recognizes individuals letters and pretends to write. His O's are amazing, but all other letters look like snakes.
We survived a stomach virus and hand foot mouth disease this month. A recent unpleasant development is Peanut is starting to shorten his 3 1/2 hour naps to 2 hours. Thank goodness he still sleeps 12-13 hours a night.
Some things we're working on are overcoming his fear of dogs, transitioning to a big boy bed, potty training, and weaning off of a pacifier.

Finally, he seems to know that "mommy is having a baby" but does not focus on it too much. He asked about it a few weeks ago but hasn't really been interested.
