Peanut welcomed his little sister, Rocky, into the world this month. After a rough couple of weeks of being really sick and having to get used to a new sibling and extra relatives in the house, Peanut is healthy and wants to be a helpful big brother. Everytime he hears Rocky cry, Peanut will yell, "I'm going to check on her", sprints over to her, and sticks the pacifier in her mouth. At least until Rocky's three months old, we're trying to teach Peanut only to touch her feet or legs. He listens most of the time, but today has taken the initiative to offer her the pacifier. It's really sweet, but we're trying to discourage it. With cold/flu season here and his exposure to ever germ imaginable at preschool, we figured if it's a baby sister touching free for all now, it will be hard to make him stop when he's sick and isn't allowed to play with her. At least at three months, she's more stable and any serious risk due to fever is lessened.
It's cute the way he tries to comfort Rocky when she cries. Peanut will stroke her feet and say, "it's OK baby". After about three attempts, he'll usually just walk away and probably thinking to himself, "ah, women".
Peanut seems to have adjusted to the two major changes in his life this month. With the first being the arrival of his sister and second attending Spanish school five mornings a week. I'm so lucky Peanut is such an easy going kid.
