Our family enjoyed a wonderful September with several days of temperatures dipping into the 60's, rain after a long drought, a trip to Ashland, the addition of new fall vegetables to my garden, and Peanut starting preschool. Also, we're finally making more friends in Austin which is keeping our social calendars quite full ... and I love it!
Peanut is growing up strong and healthy. He's not shy about sharing his opinions and is trying to figure out ways to gain more and more autonomy, many times resulting in lots of whining and a periodic meltdown. The meltdowns are manageable at the moment, but I know Chernobyl is around the corner.
Here are his more glamorous moments:
- Loves wearing mom's flip flops around the house.
- Asks multiple times in Vietnamese, then switches to English in hopes that he will get his way in one language or the other.
- Jumps and is so proud when he gets an inch off the ground.
- Asks for hugs and kisses.
- Takes care of his little stuffed bear he calls "Bee".
- Sits and listens to the entire story (sometimes even two or three) for the first time ever.
- Says hi to strangers, particularly ones his size.
- Sits facing forward in his car seat.
- Compliments my cooking by saying "good" and "tasty".
- Finally tall enough to move his toy airplane on his own. Before, he just sat there dangling his legs and requesting passersby for the occasional push.
