Happy 29 Months Peanut

Peanut is changing into a little boy in front of my very own eyes. He still has chubby cheeks and pouty lips, but his torso is leaning out. In fact, he has abs.

In the beginning, I wasn't too happy with his Spanish immersion school but by week three, they started pulling their act together. It's hard for me and J to know if the language is sinking in because neither one of us really speaks Spanish. But recently, Peanut started counting in Spanish without any prompting. I take this as a good sign.

I'm going to warn all first-time parents out there of something called The Wiggles. Peanut loves this group of four middle aged men who sing these terribly catchy children's songs. They literally are like crack for kids. I think he was introduced to The Wiggles in the childcare center at my gym but I didn't know this until we were at the library and heard my son screech, "Mommy, look, it's Wiggle Time!" I made the mistake of borrowing it and now my husband and mother-in-law can't get the darn songs out of their heads either.

Even though The Wiggles are the first thing he asks for in the morning, Peanut still tells me his favorite song is the Sesame Street song la la la la la. I melt when he sings along. The whole family walks around humming this song too.

Ever since we put up the gate, Peanut has been sleeping on the floor right by the door. We put him in his bed before we call it a night so at least he wakes up in the right place.

J is constantly amazed at all the things Peanut likes to eat. Okra, soup, onions, blue cheese are just some of the non-kid food items he asks for by name. The quantity this boy can put down is what shocks me. There are times when he eats an adult portion and a half in one sitting. His diet is a lot healthier than ours and he seems to burn it all off, but the sheer quantity blows my mind. What's he going to be like as a teenager?

We just got that same guitar for Dumpling and Mochi. They go absolutely bananas over it.
