Rocky is crawling. In my mind, this is good and bad news. The good news is her development is on track. The bad news is she's mobile and getting into places she shouldn't be getting into like the VCR (yes, we still have one of those) and pulling the remotes from under the coffee table.
Rocky mastered reverse a while back, but forward was a challenge until Saturday. We were in Houston at our friends' high tea party when Rocky decided to crawl. Jared and I were used to reverse mode and pointing her rear-end in the direction we wanted her to go, but forward threw us off our game; in turn, preventing us from eating too many scones.
Although Peanut began crawling by 7 months, he only commando crawled for a couple of months. Rocky is starting later than her brother, but went straight to doing it on her hands and knees. Turn up the volume a bit, ignore my voice, and you can hear Rocky's little hands slapping against the floor as she crawls. I imagine if Frankenstein's monster were to crawl, he'd do it like this ... very mechanical and deliberate.
