Happy 41 Months Birthday, Peanut!

Our little guy on his first bike. It's a hand-me-down from his cousin, Kevin. Peanut was very excited to take his first bike ride and rode really well up and down our street.

A few other tidbits that occured this month:

-- We are interested in this school located near Jared's office. It seems to offer a good balance of self-discovery and academics, while maintaining a focus on languages. Peanut had his observation a couple weeks ago and "passed". The observation took approximately one hour and was conducted with a few other kids. The staff looked at the kids' gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language development, and social development. This boy, who normally never stops talking, was shy that day. We got his results at the parent interview and was told he was "quiet and shy". Even so, he got accepted. Peanut is ninth on the waiting list, so it's pretty unlikely he'll get a spot this fall.

-- Peanut continues to attend Spanish school this summer, but will be taking the month of July off to spend time with his Nana Ruthie Pooh. After she leaves, Peanut will start gymnastics camp for 2 weeks.

-- I'm pretty excited to report that Peanut seems to be picking up Spanish. We were watching Los Ninos en Su Casa on PBS and they kept on saying corriendo over and over again. I asked Peanut what it meant and he said, "run". I told Jared, tengo hambre. He didn't know what that meant and asked Peanut who answered, "I'm hungry". In addition to translating for his parents, he also knows colors, numbers, and names of fruit.
