Rocky's Going-to-School Eve

Rocky starts school tomorrow and while I'm excited to have some time to myself, which I'm not really sure what that really means since it's been so long, I'm also a little anxious.

Her school goes until 2:30 PM, which means she'll nap at school.  Everyone says the second child can sleep through anything, well, not mine.  Rocky requires the perfect sleeping environment -- dark and quiet.  Her bedroom has blackout curtains and an air purifier which creates white noise.  School will have neither.  Rocky's in for a rude awakening.  Someone without kids will read this and say, "what's the big deal?  It's the teacher's problem."  But, moms understand the value of sleep.  Rocky's teacher, Ms. Suzi, assured me that kids act differently at school and I'd be surprised at how easily kids adapt.  She also said that all of her students nap.  I really hope so.

It's going to be strange not having to use a diaper bag as my purse or constantly have snacks on hand.  I know Rocky is going to have a good time once she's settled in and I'm going to love having some free time, but on the eve of her first day, I'm a little sad.
