Point Sebago, Maine

It took us 2 hours to drive from Boston to our "resort", Point Sebago, in Casco, Maine.  We arrived here on the last day of the north east heat wave and it's been in the mid-70's since.  Summer to this Texas cowgirl is made up of what seems like never ending 100 degree days, I never knew summer could be so pleasant.  J teases me all the time about hating the heat, reminding me that I'm from south Vietnam, where it's hot and humid year round.

J calls me "medium maintenance", but even for this medium maintenance girl, Point Sebago is certainly not a "resort".  J and I were a little surprised when we arrived at our "camp" (what the locals call a lake house), which turns out to be a double-wide manufactured home.

There are two redeeming factors about this family campground:  (1) the nice beach on Lake Sebago and (2) camp for the kids.

Going on vacation for 2 months is great, but the biggest problem J and I face is we are with the kids 100% of the time.  So, having a place for them to blow off some steam for 4 hours without us is a real bonus.  They've really enjoyed camp, and so have we.  Next time, we'll just look for a place with nicer "medium maintenance" accommodations.
