In 6 Days, The Kids Speak Vietnamese

I am so happy Jared convinced me to go to Vietnam this summer in order to put the kids in a local school because in just 6 days, the kids are saying Vietnamese phrases without any prompting.  I've heard a word here and there since we've been here, but tonight, we were getting the kids ready for bed and Peanut says, "giờ đi ngủ", which means, "time to go to sleep".  Then Rocky says it.  It is incredibly special to hear Vietnamese come out of my kids' mouths.  I had kind of given up on the kids actually speaking it and convinced myself I would be happy if they could understand, but this has given me the inspiration I need to keep speaking to them in Vietnamese and encourage, who am I kidding, force them speak it too.

I'm proud to say that the children's teachers told me the kids understand a lot of Vietnamese.  (I think they were pretty surprised.)  It looks like Peanut and Rocky are starting to bridge that gap between understanding Vietnamese and speaking it.  Now it's my job to stay on top of it when we return to Texas in two weeks.
