One of the most refreshing things about my kids is they are honest. It's also one of the most dangerously embarrassing qualities. Here are a couple of stories I'm sharing to my detriment.
I'm trying on my first pair of skinny black jeans at
Zara. Peanut's sitting on the floor of my dressing room, looks up, and yells, "Mommy, I see your butt". I'm trying to use my calm, hushed voice and say in Vietnamese, "Peanut, please don't say that". It only causes him to defend his case even louder. "But Mommy, I see your butt." I really need to teach this boy to speak Vietnamese!
Rocky is no better.
Every time I use the toilet, Rocky
hurriedly crawls after me, sticks her head in the bathroom, says "poo poo", puckers her lips, and loudly grunts. I try to explain that sometimes it's number one, but she loves saying "poo poo". Cut to the scene where we're at Target. I push Rocky's stroller into the stall with me and guess what she decides to say and do? "Poo poo", grunt, "poo poo", grunt. This fine when we're at home, but does she really have to say this when we're in public?
